According to Pillay, the key to a successful transition is to celebrate the milestone of moving to a new grade level, encouraging independence, showing excitement and confidence, creating a regular daily routine, and teaching children how to communicate and express their needs.
Parents are encouraged to follow suit by celebrating their child’s new grade level, encouraging independence by teaching them to manage small tasks, and showing excitement and confidence about the transition.
Creating a regular daily routine that includes time for meals, bedtime, and waking up can also help children feel safer and more prepared for school schedules.
By embracing these tips and the supportive community at Crawford International Fourways, parents can help their children confidently welcome this new phase of life and set them up for success in the years ahead.
