Kate is cultivating community spirit in Lonehill

A long-time resident of Lonehill, Lauren Kate is making a difference in her community.

Kate recently treated the Lonehill Community Fidelity Security Officers to some sweet treats as a token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication to keeping the community safe.

The officers deeply appreciated the gesture and were grateful for Kate’s kindness.
“It was such an honour to treat the Lonehill Community Fidelity Security Officers with sweets,” she said.

“When my daughter was much younger, we often baked cupcakes and drove around handing them to the guards stationed in Lonehill. They loved it, and so did my daughter. Fast-forward to today. As a real estate agent who specialises in Lonehill and Beverley, it was the first thing that came to mind when our principal, Cecily West, prompted us to think creatively about ways we can personally give back to our community.”

She added the guards were a huge part of what made Lonehill and Beverley such wonderful environments to live in.

“They go about their day and night shifts while the residents buzz around them. It was important for me to have them know that we ‘see’ them. We may not know all their names, but gestures in the form of a wave or a smile are what make us thankful to live here.”

Looking ahead, Kate is planning a celebration of the ‘guard of the month’ at the end of the month and hosting Lonehill Senior Club members on April 16 for a bingo game. There will be prizes to be won, bringing even more joy to the community.
