Lovemore Fridays for a cleaner Fourways

The Live Life Always Litter Picking Up Foundation rallies volunteers every week to combat litter and beautify Fourways, one street at a time.

Aimed with cleaning equipment and a desire to keep Fourways clean, the Live Life Always Litter Picking Up Foundation is still leading the charge to combat litter and promote community pride in the area.

The foundation has mobilised volunteers to clean up the areas every Lovemore Friday. The initiative, which aims to create a cleaner environment and generate employment opportunities, has gained significant traction in recent weeks.

According to Lovemore Robson, the founder and director of the foundation, it was founded with the mission to inspire community members to take ownership of their surroundings.

“Our inspiration for Lovemore Friday comes from the belief that a clean community leads to happier, healthier residents. We want to foster a sense of responsibility toward the environment in which we live,” said Robson.

Every Friday, volunteers come together armed with gloves, trash bags, and determination to clean up Fourways’ streets and surrounding communities.

“The support we receive from Jackpot City allows us to make a tangible impact in just one day a week. We aim to expand our efforts beyond Fourways and Douglasdale, provided we have stable funding.”

Recently, the team put on their gloves and started cleaning up the Fourways bridge on Winnie Mandela, sweeping, removing weeds, and picking up litter. The team proceeded to Willow and Cedar avenues to cut grass, sweep the roads, remove weeds, and pick up litter.

“We can all play a part in creating a cleaner environment, so we invite everyone to donate and support our initiatives. Your contributions help us sustain and expand our efforts to keep the community clean.”
