Easter drive spreads joy across local schools
The Douglasdale CPF, SAPS, and SANCA deliver cheer this Easter, gifting over 3 600 Easter eggs and unforgettable smiles to learners at various schools.
Local organisations came together to spread Easter joy across several schools in the Fourways area.
In a spirited initiative, led by the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum (CPF), the Douglasdale South African Police Service (SAPS), and the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA), smiles and sweet surprises brightened the day for students celebrating the season.
The event kicked off at Witkoppen Primary School, where the air was filled with laughter and excitement. The enthusiastic celebrations continued at Impact Africa Nursery School, where Shakira’s upbeat anthem Waka Waka had children dancing with delight, showcasing the powerful connection between unity and joy.

At Hlalisekani Playgroup, the atmosphere was electric as children eagerly welcomed Easter eggs, while Warrant Officer Nicholus Mokwena added to the festive spirit with his light-hearted dancing.

The Future School’s inspiring name and mission reminded everyone of the importance of nurturing young minds for a brighter tomorrow.
Sunnyside Primary School impressed visitors with the learners’ dedication and pride in their schoolwork, while Kya Sands Primary demonstrated that small classrooms can still harbour big hearts and dreams.
The day culminated at Blessed Generation Primary, where the impact of simple acts of kindness was poignantly evident.
The CPF public relations officer, Freda Boiles, expressed gratitude for the collaboration.
“Overall, the Easter drive celebrated community, compassion, and connection, bringing together cheerful learners, dedicated teachers, and an enthusiastic team of volunteers. This initiative exemplifies how community spirit can make a significant difference in the lives of our children.”
