Cameron claims victory at Crawford’s Interhouse athletics day

Crawford International Lonehill celebrated a spirited Interhouse Athletics Day, where sportsmanship, school pride, and athletic excellence lit up the grounds.

Crawford International Lonehill was a hive of excitement on July 25, as learners gathered for the school’s annual interhouse athletics day, a highlight on the school calendar.

Under clear winter skies, learners took to the track and field with unmatched enthusiasm, competing across a variety of athletic events. From sprints and relays to high jump and shot put, every race was met with cheering crowds and a strong sense of house spirit.

Chelyne Schroeder, admissions consultant for Crawford Lonehill, explained that beyond the medals and points, the day was a celebration of unity and determination. “Teachers and peers lined the sidelines offering constant encouragement, creating an atmosphere that was both competitive and supportive.

“These athletes shone with talent and perseverance, earning well-deserved recognition.”

While the overall win went to Cameron House, who topped the scoreboard with consistent performances across events, Ladson House walked away with the Spirit Trophy, recognised for their unrelenting energy and unity throughout the day. Barrett House placed third overall.

“It’s more than just athletics,” said Schroeder. “It’s about spirit, teamwork, and showing up for one another.

Watching our leaners push their limits and support their houses with such passion was truly inspiring.”

Individual achievers who earned top honours for their age categories were:

  • Phakama Dube: Junior Victrix Ludorum.
  • Mordecai Nyilenda: Junior Victor Ludorum.
  • Khieran Slater: Senior Victrix Ludorum.
  • Daniel Palmer: Senior Victor Ludorum.
