Your Discovery miles can change a life

Every step, every drive, every goal you achieve could help someone see the world through new eyes.

For many people living with visual or physical challenges, independence can feel out of reach. With the help of a loyal guide dog, or a trained autism support dog, that reality changes, opening doors to confidence, connection, and a fuller life.

The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind, in partnership with Discovery Vitality MoveToGive, is calling on South Africans to move with purpose by donating their Discovery Miles to support this life-changing cause.

Each donation, no matter the size, helps SA Guide Dogs train and equip dogs that become so much more than companions… They become heroes.
How your Discovery Miles make a difference:

  • 200 Discovery Miles: Helps train a playful puppy to become a steady, trusted guide dog for someone living with a visual impairment.
  • 800 Discovery Miles: Provides assistive devices that empower people with visual impairments to live independently and with confidence.
  • 2 500 Discovery Miles: Gives a child living with autism the chance to attend a bonding session with their new autism support dog – fostering comfort, calm, and connection.

Pieter van Niekerk, SA Guide Dogs spokesperson and proud guide dog user, said: “Donating your Discovery Miles gives people like me the dignity, freedom, and confidence to live independently.”

To donate, you need to activate your Vitality active rewards, on your Discovery app, to reach your goals.

Play the gameboard to earn Discovery Miles, and then spend them in the Vitality Mall on a MoveToGive charity donation.

With just a few taps on your phone, you can help someone take their first confident step into independence, or help a child find comfort in the loving presence of their service dog.

Be someone’s hero. Donate your Discovery Miles today. The campaign ends in October 14.
