During a site visit to the intersection of Peltier Drive and Waterfall Drive in Sunninghill on March 8, Fourways Review found that the traffic light had been repositioned to face the correct direction. The adjustment follows earlier concerns raised by residents about the signal that had been reinstalled facing the wrong way after excavation work linked to underground water infrastructure.

However, while the alignment has been corrected, Fourways Review observed that the traffic lights at the intersection were not functioning at all. In addition, an excavation at the site had been left open, with electrical wiring exposed near the base of the traffic signal infrastructure.

Now, the traffic light faces the correct direction, but the non-operational signals, and exposed infrastructure, continue to pose safety concerns for road users.
Fourways Review contacted Johannesburg Roads Agency for comment regarding the non-functioning traffic lights and the open excavation left at the site. Their response will ne published as soon as it’s received.
