Water restored after Bowling Road pipe burst, some Rivonia taps still run dry
Residents see relief as repair work continues, though some areas in Rivonia remain without water.
Water has been largely restored to residents following a pipe burst on Bowling Road, Gallor Manor, with repair teams working through the night on April 8 to stabilise the situation.
A subcontractor of Johannesburg Water is currently on site for repairs.

The pipe burst caused significant disruption, prompting urgent repair work that extended into the evening.
Some of the affected areas are Sunninghill, Megawatt Park, Edenburg, and some parts of Paulshof, including Rivonia, which remains without water.
Chris Santana, councillor of Ward 106, said he has escalated the matter to the water utility.
Teams are currently pumping out water that has accumulated underground to assess the integrity of the main line.
Initial findings indicate a minor leak from the pipe installed yesterday at a connection point, which is now being closely inspected.

“We have been working here from Monday, along with Joburg water, to fix this issue. Now we have a leaking valve from the new one we installed yesterday, so we are waiting for our team members to arrive”, said Domingos Como of the contractor.
Once all issues have been resolved, the focus will shift to restoring the road surface and closing the excavation site.
Residents are urged to remain patient as final repairs are completed.
Johannesburg Water confirmed to residents: ”The water supply has been fully restored in Bowling Avenue; however, there is another burst pipe on Archter Road in Paulshof.
The section has been isolated and will remain closed until repair work is complete.”
