Omnia team spreads kindness at Witkoppen Clinic to wrap up Mandela month
Patients at Witkoppen Clinic were met with an unexpected act of kindness as Omnia employees wrapped up Mandela month by serving soup, bread, and sweets.
Patients visiting Witkoppen Clinic received an unexpected act of kindness, as employees from Omnia spent time at the facility distributing food parcels and sweets to mark the end of Mandela month.
Although the company was unable to commemorate Mandela Day on July 18 with the clinic, the team chose to conclude the month by dedicating their own 67 minutes of service to the community.

Led by human resources executive Bronwyn Murray, Omnia employees handed out cups of soup, bread, and sweets to patients waiting at the clinic, bringing smiles to many who had not expected the surprise.
Addressing the team, Murray said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to its purpose and values. “I just want to congratulate you. Look at what we’ve done and put together. This is living our values and our purpose.”
She explained that Omnia’s vision of creating innovative solutions and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future extends beyond business and into the communities it serves. “Supporting a programme like this links to our purpose and our values. We believe people can have a future, and I’m so proud of the team.”
In addition to the food items, the company donated baby products that will be distributed to new and expectant mothers during breastfeeding awareness week. Senior operations manager for the clinic Sandra Bvunyenge welcomed the donation and thanked Omnia for partnering with the clinic. Bvunyenge said the contribution would make a meaningful difference to families who rely on the clinic’s services and expressed her appreciation for the company’s generosity.

For many patients, the visit brightened what would otherwise have been an ordinary trip to the clinic.
Nkateko Nyembe said the gesture came as a complete surprise. “I didn’t expect anything like this today. I’m really grateful. It shows that the clinic and people in the community care about us and want us to feel welcome.”
