Douglasdale Community Policing Forum calls on residents to attend public safety meeting

Residents across the Douglasdale policing precinct are invited to have their say on local crime and safety concerns at a public meeting where SAPS, JMPD, ward councillors, and community leaders will discuss crime trends and policing challenges.

With community safety remaining a key concern for residents across the Douglasdale policing precinct, the Douglasdale Community Police Forum (CPF) is calling on residents to take an active role in discussions about crime and policing in the area.

Residents will have an opportunity to hear directly from local safety stakeholders and raise concerns at the CPF’s upcoming public meeting on September 2, at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways.

The meeting, which will take place from 18:00 to 20:00, aims to allow residents to hear about the latest crime trends, policing developments, and community safety concerns affecting the area.

Douglasdale CPF public relations officer Freda Boiles said the meeting would provide residents with an important platform to engage directly with those responsible for policing and community safety in the precinct.

“The meeting presents a valuable opportunity for our community members to engage with key stakeholders and share their safety concerns, initiatives, and ideas.”

Douglasdale SAPS is expected to address residents on crime-related activities and trends within the policing precinct, while the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) will provide feedback on local sector issues. Ward councillors will also be available to engage with residents, answer questions, and hear concerns from the community.
