Estate managers with God complexes

FOURWAYS - The writer claims estate managers have gotten out of control in the area.

I would like to bring to the attention of the Fourways residents and ascertain if other residents and pet owners are experiencing similar issues with estate managers and body corporates.

Our complex is pet friendly and in having pets there will be a natural occurrence of barking.

This acts as an increase in security within the complex as well and adds to the warm and family environment.

In the body corporate rules and regulations there is no rule that stipulates that an owner/resident can be issued a fine/nor an amount given, for a barking dog.

Any rule or regulation added onto the body corporate rules would need to be passed, signed and agreed upon by both the board of trustees and the home owners.

The current estate management has issued a fine due to complaints of one unit.
With this case, there are 16 other units within closer proximity where the majority of the units have dogs.

There have been no other complaints from other units.
My concern is that estate managers are implementing their own rules and regulations where they feel necessary, at the cost of the home owners and residents.

This is creating unnecessary anger and frustration within the estate and it’s time that they answer for their actions.
