Sisters take part in Lipizzaner vaulting show
ON 7 SEPTEMBER sisters Gabriella and Dimitri Michalakis from Kyalami took part in a Lower Grades inter-regions vaulting show. The show took place at the Lipizzaner Indoor Centre in Kyalami. The sisters competed as a pair and individually.
Gabriella said, “It was a great show. I competed in the under 14 E grade class and came second. I was also second on the barrel and won the pairs with Dimitra.”
Dimitra added, “I came sixth in the under 12 E grade class on the horse. I won the barrel class and the pairs. We have both been vaulting for three months. We are looking forward to the next show and hope to give an even better performance.”
Children from Central, North and Western Gauteng compete as individuals and also in teams to see which region scores the highest points. The next vaulting show is on 19 and 20 October at the Lipizzaner Centre.
