Bonafede set to breeze through the Windy City

DAINFERN- Gennaro Bonafede enters third round of Bridgestone Production Car Championship in second place.

Audi Sasolracing Team’s Gennaro Bonafede heads to the Windy City, Port Elizabeth for round three of the Bridgestone Production Car Championship relishing the prospects of another tough challenge.

After two events, the 23-year-old from Dainfern lies second in the points table and with 35 points on offer for the day, he knows the championship could look very different by the time the chequered flag falls on the final race.

“A win in PE would be very rewarding and I have always liked the Aldo Scribante track,” he said. “It has been good to me in the past even though last year we had a rough event. It is important for us to get back to winning ways and take the championship lead back, I can’t wait.”

Looking at the event from an engineering point of view, Audi Sasolracing Team data analyst, Brandon More said the complex around the esses was the most technical, but expects a lot of action at the last corner onto the straight as it was important to defend against the top end speed of the BMWs.

It has been a rather busy start to the season with two events in March, so the five-week break between the Killarney event and Port Elizabeth gave Bonafede the opportunity to unwind.

In typical fashion he grasped every opportunity he could.
