Gauteng in showjumping form
KYALAMI - Gauteng won the Open Pony Riders team showjumping event at the 2014 SA Pony Rider Champs on 6 July at Kyalami Equestrian Park.
The team was made up of open pony riders Erin dos Santos riding Whisperer; Nina Holloway riding Tatooine Bobbysox; Travis Dawson riding La Audience; Charlotte Stuart riding My Irish Boy; and reserve rider Erin Boon riding Miss Chantilly Lace. Chef d’Equipe was Chad Cunningham.
The SA Pony Rider Team Championship saw four teams compete. They were from Eastern Province, Gauteng, Western Province and KwaZulu-Natal.
After two rounds, Gauteng emerged as victorious after incurring only four faults.
In the individual open class held on 5 July, Stuart riding My Irish Boy won the 2014 SA Healthtec Pony Rider Showjumping Championship after riding through the finish flags of the jump-off competition in the fastest time and clearing every jump.
