Skateboarder pops to victory

DAINFERN - Dainfern lad, Brandon Valjalo (16) attended World Diamond skateboarding Championship held in Kimberley on 2 October.

The three-day extreme sport extravaganza saw Valjalo dominate in the arena.

Although he has been skating since he was three years old, Valjalo comes from a competitive family that prides themselves on their sport abilities. He naturally eased his way into the sporting arena and has won some major competitions.

Valjalo placed in the top spot in the South African Street Championship as well as the Junior World Skateboarding Championship. He won over R30 000 in both events.

“I am a passionate skateboarder and spend many hours training, and I am dedicated to my sport,” said Valjalo.

This talented young sport star has managed to secure major sponsorships with some of the best representatives in the extreme sport business.

“I have seven sponsors at the moment which are Skullcandy, Neff, Technique Skateboards, Etnies, Drift innovations, Jungle Rush and Redbull,” he added.

Family and friends expect great things to come for Valjalo.
