Karate Club achieves 100 percent pass rate

NORSCOT – Sensei Mike Lester, chief instructor of Norscot Manor Karate Club was recently awarded his seventh Dan when he graded, making him one of the very few westerners to achieve this level.

 

Lester was graded by Sensei Mori Toshihiro and Sensei Okuma Koichiro, who both travelled from Japan for the grading.

Also graded was Sensei Karl Kornberger who was awarded his sixth Dan; Warren Henderson his second Dan; and Cameron Frankland and Kyle Johnson their first Dans.

The local club, situated at the Norscot Manor Recreation Centre, is open to juniors and seniors.

Classes are held on Mondays, Wednesday and Saturdays.
