Dainfern’s very own bantamweight champion
DAINFERN – DuHo Kim recently won the EFC 54 bantamweight division – read what he had to say about it.
Mixed martial arts instructor, DuHo Kim, won the EFC 54 bantamweight division which took place at Sun City.
Kim is one of the owners of the mixed martial arts gym, Pound for Pound which is situated at Dainfern Valley Shopping Centre.
“I challenged myself by fighting against Warren King, a fighter from Edenvale and I am glad I won the fight,” Kim said.
He added that he had never been in a three-round fight before and pushed himself to see if he could go the distance.
“I haven’t been fighting for the past seven months and the reason behind me not fighting for the past months was because I was focusing on the new martial arts gym that I co-own with my partner Mthobisi Buthelezi,” Kim explained.
He added that once the martial arts gym was up and running, he would then get back to fighting. “Our martial arts gym, Pound for Pound is set to move to a new and bigger location within the shopping complex in December, and it will start running in January,” he said.
“My message to young aspiring fighters is to never stop training and always follow your heart. If you set your mind on something, follow it and make sure you execute it to the best of your ability.”
