Local athletes make it to the top five at ASA Cross-Country Championships held in Rustenburg

FFA coach said Makamu and Hadebe did extremely well finishing in the top five at ASA Cross-Country Championships

Members of Fitness From Africa Athletics Club Elina Makamu and Sbusiso Hadebe have expressed their satisfaction with their results in the Athletics South Africa (ASA) Cross-Country Championships recently held in Rustenburg, North West.

Makamu and Hadebe from Diepsloot who represented Gauteng in this year’s ASA championships scooped fourth and fifth positions in a highly contested female category.

“I am very proud of what we’ve achieved at the cross-country championships. I believe that we represented our province and our club, Fitness From Africa very well even though we didn’t make it in the top three. I hope that we will get much better results next time,” Makamu said.

Fitness coach and mentor to Makamu and Hadebe, Precious Hlaka said, “I am very happy and extremely proud of what Elina and Sbusiso achieved at the ASA Cross-Country Championships…We hope and believe that next time they will achieve even better results.”
