EFC fighter ‘Bhubesi’ loses fight, but his spirit remains unshaken

Siyanda ‘Bhubesi’ Vilakazi’s spirit remains undefeated after he lost his fight against a grappling opponent in the second round of their match. He vows to work harder and spend more time in the gym with his coach so to win next time.

The stage was set, the anticipation was palpable, and EFC 118 did not disappoint by hosting a night of non-stop action on October 10 at the EFC Sports Arena in Paulshof.

The event was an electrifying spectacle, with thrill-seeking fans left on the edge of their seats as top contenders clashed in the cage.

But, for Siyanda ‘Bhubesi’ Vilakazi, the flyweight powerhouse who made history with a 10-second knockout earlier this year, the night held back his promise of yet another record-breaking moment.

He was fighting against Lihle ‘Rush Hour’ Ngamntwini who made him tap out in the second round of the match.

“Things may have not gone my way, but it is normal; there’s always one winner, and everyone stands a chance to win in a fight. I was facing an elite grappler and I have learned a lot from him. He is so good in wrestling and I am also proud of myself for giving him a hard time and being able to get to round two before he won.”

Vilakazi said these setbacks have fueled his willpower to bounce back stronger, spending more time in the gym with his coach.

He also vowed to focus on refining his craft and reclaiming his spot in the next flyweight division.

“There was nothing really challenging about this match. I admit, I did not give myself enough chance to thoroughly prepare for it. If I did, I am confident that I could have won. I got into the wrong positions a few times and he was able to use that to his advantage which worked for him.”
