Local equestrians wowed the 2025 Toyota Easter Festival crowd, showcasing extraordinary skill and teamwork over an exhilarating four-day competition.

The 2025 Toyota Easter Festival brought excitement and fierce competition to Kyalami Park Club over the Easter weekend, showcasing the remarkable talent of local riders.

A combination of skill, dedication, and team spirit defined the event, as participants from the community competed against a backdrop of camaraderie and support.

Claudia Graunke, the owner and head coach of Cavaliere Equine Centre, based in Fourways, said the centre excelled with stunning performances. “The festival kicked off on April 17, where Callaho Caleda and I dazzled the judges and spectators alike, winning first place,” she said.

Their exceptional rides earned them a gold medal, marking a triumphant start to the weekend. “I couldn’t be prouder of Callaho Caleda. This win is a testament to our hard work and dedication.”

On April 18, the trend of excellence continued, with Izabella Hallowes and her partner, Code of Honour, riding to a triumphant third-place finish. The pair’s performance captured the attention of the crowd, and the excitement in the arena was palpable as they celebrated their success.

The following day brought further accolades. Graunke and Caleda maintained their strong form, finishing second in their championship class. Kendra Reid and her partner, Magic, showcased their skills as well, securing a commendable seventh place in the A2 competition and celebrating a remarkable second place in the accumulator class.

In addition, Hallowes and Code of Honour claimed seventh place in their A2 class, highlighting the competitive spirit of the festival.

The final day of the festival saw Reid and Magic continue to rise in the ranks, finishing fourth in their championship class.

Graunke acknowledged the contributions of everyone involved. “A huge thank you to all of our riders for their determination and skill. Your performances brought us immense pride and joy. Also, a special shoutout to our amazing grooms, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.”
