Fourways High lifts athletes’ spirits high

Fourways High School celebrated both athletic strength and unmatched unity at the A League Interhigh Athletics Competition, clinching third place overall and proudly lifting the Spirit Cup.

Delivering a powerful performance, earning a third-place finish that secures their place in the prestigious A league for another season, Fourways High School combined athletic prowess and unparalleled school spirit at the A League Interhigh Athletics Competition on August 22.

Held at Germiston Stadium, the competition was fierce, with Fourways going head-to-head against Queens High School, Randpark High School, and Roosevelt High School. Despite tough opposition, the team’s determination and consistency ensured they held their ground among some of Gauteng’s top young athletes.

It wasn’t only the athletes who made the day unforgettable. Fourways High’s spirit proved just as victorious as their sporting effort. The entire student body and staff turned out in full force, filling the stadium with chants, cheers, and an atmosphere of unwavering support. Their efforts earned the school the coveted Spirit Cup, a moment of immense pride that underlined the true essence of the day.

Speaking on the event, Paula Agar, of Fourways High School, said: “We could not be prouder of our learners. Their passion, commitment, and unity showed everyone what Fourways High is all about. Winning the Spirit Cup is a reflection of our school family, and to remain in the A league is an achievement we can all celebrate together.”
