Fourways gymnastics duo help SA secure gold at Region 5 in Namibia

Young stars Kiara Sutherland and Aryanna Singh dazzled on the international stage as South Africa’s Pre-Junior Team claimed first place at the Region 5 Gymnastics Competition in Namibia, putting Junxion Gymnastics on the world map.

Two young gymnasts from Junxion Gymnastics have made South Africa proud after delivering outstanding performances at the Region 5 Gymnastics Competition, held in Namibia on December 12.

Kiara Sutherland and Aryanna Singh were part of South Africa’s Pre-Junior Team, which claimed first place overall at the prestigious regional event.

Competing against some of the best young gymnasts in Southern Africa, the team’s success was met with excitement and pride back home.

Aryanna emerged as one of the top performers, securing gold on vault and silver on bars, while Kiara delivered a consistent and confident performance to earn silver on vault, silver on beam, and silver overall.

The competition also marked a memorable experience for the Junxion gymnasts, who proudly shared the journey with fellow South African competitor and Summit Gymnastics athlete, Elonay Pretorious.

Michelle Johnson of Junxion Gymnastics praised the gymnasts’ dedication and resilience, “Your hard work, dedication, and passion have brought you to this moment.

Johnson also expressed gratitude to coach Gareth, who travelled with the team and provided support throughout the competition, as well as to South African Gymnastics for creating opportunities for young athletes to compete on an international stage.

“These results are phenomenal. Kiara and Aryanna have made Junxion Gymnastics unbelievably proud.”
