Hercules comes back after dry spell in the hexagon

Mamelodi Warriors MMA star Lucky Magekha moves up in weight, stopping Johannes Rudolph via second-round TKO and snapping a four-fight skid. Now, he’s hunting bigger names while calling on sponsors to fuel the journey.

Lucky ‘Hercules’ Magekha, the 25-year-old Mamelodi Warriors Kickboxing Club fighter, stopped Johannes ‘Warrior’ Rudolph with a second-round TKO (knees and punches) at 00:02:02, earning Performance of the Night honours and improving his professional record to 5–4.

After years of draining cuts at bantamweight, Magekha deliberately moved up to 145lbs (featherweight). The difference showed immediately. “I was cutting too much, man. My body felt drained before I even stepped in the cage. At 145lbs I feel powerful, fast, and healthy. This is where I belong. I’ve always been strong for my size, but now I have room to throw and room to breathe. No more suffering to make weight.”

The bout started evenly, but Magekha shifted gears in the second round. “I stopped over-thinking completely. Coach told me to let my hands and knees go, and that’s exactly what I did. The knee landed clean, and I just kept pouring it on. Felt amazing to get the stoppage after four tough losses. That’s the old Hercules we all know and love.”

The victory marked a clear turning point for Magekha. “I want the top guys in the division. I’m coming for everyone. No more losing streaks, only forward from here. This win is just the beginning of something big for me.”

Magekha also paid tribute to the loyal South African fans who supported him through the difficult streak. “Thank you for riding with me through the tough times.” With his explosive kickboxing base, sharper skills, and the right weight class now locked in, the future looks bright for Hercules.

Outside the cage, Magekha was brutally honest about the challenges of being a pro fighter in South Africa. “I’m actively looking for sponsors who believe in the journey. Local businesses, brands, anyone who wants to back a real success story, your support will go straight into training, recovery, fight-week costs, and travel. It all adds up fast, but it keeps me strong and competing at the highest level.

“Let’s build this together. I’m ready to represent you with heart and power every time I fight.”
