Fourways rules the hockey world

FOURWAYS- Four hockey players from Fourways High School make it big.

Hayley Kilfoil and Alex Kavanagh have been selected for the South Gauteng U21 provincial teams.

Kilfoil and Kavanagh were selected for the Southerns A team, while Ashleigh Ballantine and Chelsea van Heerden were selected for the B team, also known as Witsies. The tournament all four girls will play in takes place from 22 to 28 April.

This is the first time in the history of the school that so many pupils have been selected for U21 teams.

On the coaching front, Garth Neilson – first team girls’ coach at the school – has been appointed as the Witsies U21 women’s coach.

David Joshua has been appointed as the South Gauteng U21 men’s A team coach. Joshua has recently joined the school and brings a wealth of experience. His most recent success as a coach was leading the senior Witsies team to gold at the 2013 senior inter-provincial tournament.
