The Lion Man launches his book
Author Gareth Patterson, releases his autobiography entitled My Lion's Heart - A Life for the Lions of Africa this October.
With this book, Patterson immerses his readers into his life and reveals the reasons why he is celebrated as the ‘Lion Man’ of Africa. He details the highs and lows of his 25 years as an environmentalist, independent wildlife researcher and author. Patterson said, “[This] is my 10th book, and is probably the most important book I have written. It tells my life story, a story of tears and smiles, about my attempts to… protect the iconic animal symbol of this continent, the African lion.”
This book marks an important milestone for the author who endured tough times, lived in the wild as a member of a pride of lions, and later suffered a mental break-down in his 40s, but still continued to pursue his wildlife passion.
Having rehabilitated three orphaned lions and successfully sent them back into the wild, as well as exposing the sordid canned lion industry in South Africa, this man has a lot to share.
Join him at The Met Grill on 23 October at 6.30pm for the launch of his autobiography.
