MONTECASINO - Montecasino has a new signature cocktail which will add a unique flavour to their Sundowners on the Deck weekly event.
Denzel Heath, head trainer at Thirst Bar Services and one of the top three mixologists in South Africa, was tasked with creating the perfect cocktail for Southern Sun Montecasino Hotel’s summer season. After much experimentation and thought, Heath put together the Smoked Lime and Marmalade Havana Mojito, a refreshing new version of the classic mojito traditionally concocted using white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and mint.
“In general, the classic mojito and different flavour variations are the most popular cocktails in South Africa,” Heath said. “The Smoked Lime and Marmalade Havana Mojito variation brings out the flavour of ex-Bourbon barrel-aged Havana Club Rum and compliments it with the spicy orange flavours of the marmalade.” Residents can make the most of summer and enjoy Montecasino’s signature cocktail at Sundowners on the Deck at the Southern Sun Hotel every Friday afternoon between 3pm and 6pm. The weekly event includes complimentary canapés, live entertainment and sensational cocktails.
