Boy’s genitals cut off in gruesome attack
It is alleged the three known men called the boy to help call a woman for them.
A 12-year-old boy is recuperating in hospital after three attackers allegedly cut off his genitals in Ivory Park, near Midrand in Gauteng.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said the boy was admitted to hospital on Sunday evening after a passerby found him bleeding heavily under a bridge in the Themba Khoza Section of Ivory Park, Tembisan reported.
It is alleged the three known men called the boy to help call a woman for them.
“The suspects promised the boy they would pay him. The victim went with the men to call the woman. While on their way, next to a bridge, they grabbed him and held him down. It is believed the three men cut off the boy’s genitals and left him there. The victim was seen by a person passing by who knows him and rushed him to hospital,” added Makhubela.
He said the suspects will appear in court tomorrow. A case of attempted murder was opened.
“Two men, aged 23 and 28, were arrested on Monday. We are still searching for the third suspect. We are appealing for any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest,” he said.
