Luso Africa Sports and Cultural Association’s Cycling Division’s 10th Charity Tour saw 76 cyclists gathering at Hattingh Park in Primrose East to start their journey to Maputo in Mozambique, recently.
President of Lusiadas, the governing body of St Francis de Assisi Portuguese Old Age Home in Pretoria, Paula de Castro, was among the guests at the breakfast send-off.
All cyclists and drivers who travelled to Maputo were thrilled to take part in the 10th Charity Tour.
Claudio Melo (14) and Blake Coetzer (15) were the youngest cyclists on the Charity Tour.
There were six female cyclists and they all took a photo moment with Dr Francisco-Xavier de Meireles (Consulate General of Portugal) before the tour. The riders included Claudia Gnudi (left), Ariana Pinto (visitor from Portugal and first-time rider on the tour), Dulce Marques, Esme Pereira, Diana Gnudi and Paola Liddi.
Dr Francisco-Xavier de Meireles (Consulate General of Portugal) wishes the oldest female cyclist, Esme Pereira (62), and the oldest male cyclist, Remo Pasquali (75), well before the tour.
