Panthers win Tumelo Mokoena Tournament

Panthers Netball Club (PNC) from Mosiliki Section in Katlehong played in the Tumelo Mokoena Netball Tournament.

The two-day tournament of two divisions – u16 and Open – took place at the Sam Ntuli Sports Complex on March 17 and March 18.

The determined PNC ladies entered both divisions and returned home with good news.

The u-16 team obtained position two after defeating the Amazion Netball Team as well as the Lovers Netball Team while the senior team were the happiest of them all after defeating three teams to be crowned the champions of the tournament.

PNC ladies showed how much they wanted the trophy by pouring their hearts out on the netball court.

The coach and the founder of PNC, Mpho Tolo, expressed just how happy she was with her team’s performances.

“I wish the team were always able to play the way they did today. They played like professionals.

“What I like the most about them is that they are always doing well in tournaments and in the Ekurhuleni Netball League. One of my goals is to see these players represent the province or playing for the national team,” said Tolo.

She said it had not been easy to develop the players to be the good netball players they are today.

The PNC u-16 team members received a ball and silver medals for their second-place finish, while the senior team received new playing kits, two balls, a trophy and gold medals for their first-place finish.
