Primrose police arrest two for stolen property

Two found in possession of stolen property.

Primrose police arrested two men, aged 24 and 28 years old respectively, on Thursday.

The two were arrested for possession of stolen property.

The arrests took place in Marlands after officers noticed three men who fitted the description of the suspects of an earlier housebreaking in Oak Avenue, Primrose East.

The three, who were carrying bags, fled in different directions upon seeing the police.

The officers chased after the men and were able to apprehend two of them.

Upon their arrival at the Primrose Police Station the suspects informed the police that they did not reside in Germiston but in Soweto.

They also claimed they were not responsible for the housebreaking in Primrose but that they had in fact been involved in a housebreaking in James Street, Witfield, Boksburg.

The suspects were taken to the scene of the alleged housebreaking where the Primrose police found the Boksburg North police opening a case of housebreaking and theft.

The two suspects will face charges of possession of stolen property with the Primrose police as they were caught in Marlands with the stolen goods and will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court before being handed over to the Boksburg North police to face charges of housebreaking and theft.

The perpetrators responsible for the housebreaking in Oak Avenue are still at large and the police ask the public to come forward with any information they may have.
