Woman arrested for illegal liquor and drug possession.

On Thursday, March 27, members of the Germiston SAPS conducted a stop-and-search operation in the Germiston CBD.

Officers decided to enter a house in Power Street and, during their search, found a woman who had crates of liquor in her room.

When asked what she was doing with the liquor, the 22-year-old woman told officers that she was selling it on behalf of her brother.

Officers continued to search the house and found a small bag, containing 2.9g of dagga.

“The woman was arrested and is charged with possession of dagga and dealing in liquor without a licence,” said WO AndrĂ© de Jager, spokesperson for the Germiston SAPS.

“Officers also seized 36 bottles (750ml) of beer.

“The suspect has been detained at the Germiston Police Station, pending her appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

“Brig Samuel Thambo congratulated Const Eric Mkwana, Jacob Lebelo, Sandile Mbatha, Noko Mashamaite, Patrick Marakalala, Kenneth Ndou, Ndlandla Mtethwa and Thebogo Nchoung for their diligent work.”
