Metro amends load shedding schedule

Metro tries to reduce inconveniences experienced by residents.

In its efforts to reduce inconveniences experienced by residents as a result of on-going load shedding around the country, the metro has amended its load shedding schedules.

From today, December 12, the metro will follow the newly published timetables available on their website.

The newly designed schedules respond to complaints received from residents over the past weeks, stating that the previous schedules were not favorable to all areas and that some residential areas did not appear on the schedule.

“When Eskom declares stage one or two load shedding, which is controlled by municipalities, the latest schedule that is now available on the website will be the one that the municipality uses in implementing load shedding in Ekurhuleni” said the metro spokesman Themba Gadebe.

The schedule can be accessed from the municipality’s website on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za/load-sheddings

“The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and encourages residents to use electricity sparingly,” added Gadebe.
