SPCA inundated with animals over the festive season
Germiston SPCA full to the brim after festive season.
The Germiston SPCA had a busy festive season.
They took in a staggering 95 stray dogs and 57 cats.
Over New Year, 12 dogs and four cats were found as strays.
During the same period 137 dogs were given to the SPCA as unwanted, and 85 cats were also handed in.
“No reports of injuries were reported to us as a result of fireworks,” said manager of the Germiston SPCA Yvette Berridge.
“However, there were many animals reported missing over New Year as a result of the fireworks.”
If you have lost your pet you are urged to visit the SPCA’s kennels in Junction Road, Driehoek, to check if your animal has been taken there.
Remember your description of your animal might differ from the description recorded at the SPCA so it is best to check in person.
