Commemorating human rights through art
Young artists to showcase their work.
A total of 100 original art works by the youth of Ekurhuleni will be on display at the Springs Art Gallery to commemorate Human Rights Day, on March 21.
New graduates from the Ekurhuleni Art Development School and Art As Healing classes will exhibit their work to tell a story of human rights and children.
The graduates have gone through a three-month course in arts studies.
The exhibition will also feature live music performances, poetry, a Bill of Rights workshop, as well as fun-filled art activities for children.
The Ekurhuleni Human Rights Exhibition is expected to run until May 9.
Art lovers can visit the gallery from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 4.30pm, and on a Saturday from 8am until noon, free of charge.
The opening of the exhibition takes place from 3pm to 8pm, on March 21, at the Springs Art Gallery situated in the Library Building, at the corner of Fifth Street and Sixth Avenue in Springs.
