Eskom struggles to keep up with demand

The load shedding prognosis for today (Thursday) remains medium to high and is dependent on the performance of the power plants.

This comes after Eskom implemented stage one load shedding yesterday (Wednesday).

Load shedding was implemented due to a shortage in generating capacity.

The power system is stable at present but is expected to be constrained during the evening peak periods (5pm – 9pm).

Eskom will keep the community updated on the state of the power system and advise the public accordingly should the need to load shed in the evening arise.
