The Elsburg SAPS is warning the community to be alert at all times as criminals are currently using the following modus operandi: “The suspects appear to be asking for a lift (hitchhiking), or asking for transport to take items to a certain place. If you stop, they then hold you at knife/gunpoint and rob you,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

The Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF is urging residents and visitors shopping in the area to be on the alert. “The last few weeks saw cars stolen all around, including from the under-cover parking area at one of the shopping centres. Make sure your car is properly locked before leaving to do shopping,” said Pine Pienaar, vice-chairman of the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF.

In order to make way for planned maintenance work, there was a planned power supply interruption which affected certain areas in Germiston on Monday, June 15, from 7am to 5pm.

Technicians investigated the cause of a power outage at the Elsburg substation while another team worked around the clock at the James Bright substation to restore power there.
