Patrollers now glow in the dark

Patrollers to be more visible in the community.

The station commander of the Germiston SAPS, Brig Samuel Thambo, recently handed reflector jackets to the new patrollers in Dukathole.

With the help of the Dukathole CPF, 20 local community members were identified to form part of the patrollers who will assist with the fight against crime within their community.

Interwaste Environmental Solutions Germiston partnered with the Germiston police and sponsored the reflector jackets.

“The jackets will make the patrollers more visible to the community while they patrol the streets of Dukathole, Germiston Extension Nine, Germiston Extension Five, Goodhope informal settlement and the industrial areas around Dukathole, as well as the CBD, if needed,” said WO André de Jager, spokesman for the Germiston SAPS.

“Brig Thambo thanked Interwaste for the assistance they gave towards this project and encouraged the new patrollers to stand tall while assisting the community to make the streets a safer place.”
