When Andrea Haddon (20) travelled to England, in June, she would never have guessed that she’d soon be a Disney princess. Andrea, a born-and-bred Albemarle girl, went to England to compete in a dance competition; while there she took part in a day-long audition and was named Euro Disney’s new Cinderella.

An accident, which left a young girl dead and allegedly involved an actress from a local soap opera, occurred last Friday, at about 2pm. The accident took place on the R554 and N3 southbound on-ramp, near Roodekop.

The South African Weather Service warned residents of Gauteng to prepare for yet another heat wave, last Monday. It was reported that persistent high temperatures (medium to high 30s) were expected to hit the province until the end of the week, bringing with them high levels of discomfort.

A woman was recently hijacked in Malvern East. The woman was on her way to the bank, at about 9.45am, and had stopped at a stop street when a white bakkie suddenly stopped behind her.
