Watch out for these crime tactics

Keep alert this festive season – say police.

The Primrose police been on high alert throughout the festive season.

“We are appealing to the community to always be aware of their surroundings,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Be cautious of people who ask you to stop while driving, because of a flat tyre or because your registration plate has fallen off.

“Criminals have begun to use this tactic to hijack unsuspecting victims.”

The police have also warned residents not to stop for anyone claiming to be a police officer unless they are in a clearly marked police vehicle.

“Be careful of fake police badges and uniforms,” Maome said.

“The police have been out in full force making Primrose a safe place this festive season.”
