Thirty-seven arrested by Primrose SAPS

Primrose police share their latest arrest statistics

The Primrose police released their arrest statistics for the week of January 25 to 31.

Officers arrested 37 suspects within the week, for various crimes in the area.

Crimes included:

  • Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 6
  •  Common assault: 2
  • Theft of a motor cycle: 1
  • Possession of an unlicensed firearm: 1
  • Rape: 1
  • Defeating the ends of justice: 1
  • Malicious damage to property: 4
  • Reckless and negligent driving: 2
  • Dealing in drugs: 2
  • Attempted hijacking: 1
  • Armed robbery: 1
  • Contempt of court: 1
  • Warrant of arrest: 3
  • Fraud: 1
  • Possession of drugs: 6
  • Dealing in liquor without a license: 1
  • Illegal immigrants: 3

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Lieut-Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela, for deportation.
