From March 4 to 6 the Primrose police arrested eight suspects for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
One of the people arrested was a 25-year-old man who allegedly struck his friend on the head with a beer bottle during an argument.
The men were together in the Delport informal settlement when they began to fight.
“The victim claims that the fight started when the other man accused him of taking a beer without permission.
“The accused then allegedly took the beer bottle and hit the victim on the head,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
The man was arrested and held at the Primrose Police Station pending his appearance in court.
