Police target criminals

Primrose police share their latest arrest statistics.

In their continued efforts to crack down on crime in the Primrose area, the Primrose police arrested 49 suspects between November 7 and 14.

The suspects were arrested on a number of different charges, including possession of drugs, dealing in liquor without a licence, attempted armed robbery, common assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, theft out of a motor vehicle, attempted murder, housebreaking and theft, shoplifting and a warrant of arrest.

A number of illegal immigrants were also arrested.

The Primrose police’s acting station commander, Col Albertina Vesi, thanked everyone who contributed to these successes.

Most of the suspects have appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and their cases have been postponed for various reasons, while others will appear in court soon.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela for deportation.
