Deteriorating road conditions a concern

The condition of roads in Primrose and Marlands remain a serious concern to the DA

The DA, in the metro, have shared their disgust at the continual deterioration of roads in Marlands and Primrose, despite several calls for action to the metro.

In the past two months, the DA claims they’ve submitted petitions to the council, but these calls have been ignored by the metro.

The recent floods proved that the roads aren’t doing any better – in fact the situation is getting worse.

In places, the top of the road has washed away and potholes continue to worsen.

The public transport and planning department seems to be understaffed, under-capacitated and overwhelmed by the work to be done on our roads, the DA claims; and believes that more contractors are needed to help deal with the worsening situation on the roads.

“The roads are the veins of our economy and we need to ensure that they’re well maintained,” said Ward 92 councillor, Clr Tiziana Plaskitt.
