The highly anticipated 2016 matric results have arrived and with them came mixed reactions.
It was all smiles and sighs of relief at Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston as matriculants received their results.
“We are satisfied with our pass rate of 96 per cent and our learners performed much better than I expected,” said the school’s principal, Retha du Toit.
“Good luck to this year’s matriculants. If you work hard throughout the year, the results will prove it.”
There were 114 matriculants and the school recorded 29 distinctions in total, with John-Samuel Nortje as the top-achieving learner.
Nortje obtained six distinctions in English, life orientation, business studies, life sciences, mathematics and physical sciences.
