The Katlehong South Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) recently arrested a 56-year-old man for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl.
The case was opened when a family member discovered that the little girl had been sexually assaulted.
“The girl was taken to a local hospital, where it was confirmed that she had been raped,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.
“After further investigation it was discovered that the victim had been raped several times since November last year.”
Officers arrested the 56-year-old man for the crime.
He was arrested in the early hours of the morning in the Likole Section of Katlehong and is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
“We are continuing to investigate the case,” said Ndobe.
