Response to Meyiwa plea

That the public should stand up for the dead soccer star’s family.

The call to rally around the Meyiwa family over the amount of time it has taken the police to resolve the death of their son should be supported by all those who believe in justice and fairness.

I agree with David Mlambo who mentioned in his letter to the Kathorus MAIL that the public should stand up for the dead soccer star’s family.

Indeed, while the circumstances surrounding the murder of Senzo may look simple and clear to the layman, it is often the police investigating the case who may point detectives to potential suspects. It is during follow-up investigations that the culprit or culprits in the case are identified.

All these avenues in the Senzo Meyiwa case have been followed by different police divisions. And yet, almost two years later, the case remains unsolved. The people or person who pulled the trigger of the gun that killed Senzo still walks freely on our streets and most likely laughs his or her lungs out each time he or she sees a police officer walking by.
