Employees of Lauds Foundry Equipment were subjected to a nightmarish time, recently, when the company was invaded by 15 men. The robbery left one man dead and employees traumatised. Elsburg SAPS communications officer Const Daphney Phooko told the GCN that at about 6.50am, 15 men, speaking Shona, entered the business in Kabeljou Road, in Wadeville, driving a white Chevrolet utility bakkie with a canopy.

2. Men allegedly pretending to be fumigators, robbing houses in Primrose: https://bit.ly/2mzOLyV

Residents of Wychwood and Malvern East are warned to be on high alert as police have identified a new house robbery modus operandi. “We have received reports of two men who are allegedly robbing homes by posing as fumigators. It is reported that the men will tell homeowners that they are there to get rid of rats before spraying a gas that knocks the owners unconscious,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The metro warned Germiston residents of a planned water supply interruption on Monday, February 27. The interruption, due to routine maintenance at the Hilltop Reservoir, was scheduled to take place between 8am and 3pm on the day.

Germiston Child Welfare appealed to the community for assistance in locating several children’s parents.

Krugersdorp police were called to Monument Street, recently, after a shop owner discovered a body in his shop, the Krugersdorp News reported. It is believed the deceased was trying to burgle the shop, but the space he used to enter the shop was too small for his body. The man appeared to have accidentally hanged himself while trying to enter through a window.
