Germiston police officer solves case

A house break-in suspect was arrested at the border gate to Mozambique.

Investigating officer, WO Senzo Simelani, from the Germiston SAPS, has been working day and night investigating a series of house break-ins which took place in the Germiston policing area recently.

Simelani received a tip-off that the suspect behind the house break-ins was on his way to Mozambique.

The police officer traced the suspect and apprehended him at the border gate to Mozambique.

The suspect was linked to various house break-in cases through fingerprints taken on the scenes.

The 40-year-old man appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where he was found guilty of several counts of house break-ins.

With the hard work and determination of Simelani the suspect was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.
