Vosloorus SAPS meets with izinduna

On June 11, Vosloorus SAPS held a meeting at the Vosloorus police station with Vosloorus Taxi Association representatives and izinduna from the local hostels to discuss crime at various hostels.

Communications official at Vosloorus Police Station, Capt Piet Rossouw, said the purpose of the meeting was to build a working relationship between Vosloorus SAPS, izinduna from the local hostels and the taxi association.

“There are many cases involving stolen taxis. We would love to come up with a solution. We will have such meetings on a regular basis, as the first one had a positive outcome,” Rossouw said.

Rossouw added that the reason for such crimes was because most of the drivers lived in the hostels and parked their taxis there.

Station commander at Vosloorus SAPS, Brig Themba Denge, addressed those who attended the meeting.
