Drugs worth R50 000 found in Katlehong house

Acting on a tip-off from members of the public, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit recently arrested a young man and confiscated drugs. The raid took place at 2pm at a house in Maphanga ection and the 23-year-old man was found with R1 000 in cash, 93 small green plastic bags of rocks (heroin) and 261 ziplock bags of nyope, all to the estimated street value of R50 000.

Men found guilty of January 2016 murder

Det Const Mpho Makhubela, from the Primrose Police Station, helped to secure the conviction of two men for a murder in January last year. Makhubela headed the investigation of the murder which took place in the Makause Informal Settlement. Akhona Ntsaluba and Sinikiwe Ntsaluba, who were arrested for the murder, were found guilty in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.

Stop-and-search operation leads to arrests

Katlehong police arrested nine suspects for various crimes in their policing precinct last Thursday. The suspects were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit together with EMPD officers.

Taking your eye off your child for one second while in a busy mall during the silly season could end up in disaster. This was the case for a Randburg couple, Hannah and Donovan Hughes, who allegedly had their child snatched away from them while they were browsing in the Adidas outlet store in Cresta Shopping Centre.

Serial rapist finally behind bars

After months of investigation Const Nonhlanhla Zulu of the provincial Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit helped to secure the conviction of Mzingisi Radebe, known as Mandela. Radebe was connected to several Germiston rape cases during Zulu’s investigation.
